Launching NYC / expanding US-wide 2026

The map that reads parking signs for you.

Every block. Every sign. Every garage. SpotTrove turns a city’s parking maze into a single, honest answer: can I park here right now, and for how long? Starting with New York’s 440,000 signs — then every American city that double-parks.

§01 · The problem
“The sign on the pole says four things at once. The one above it contradicts the one below it. A ticket costs more than dinner. Nobody’s reading them — and that’s the business.”
§02 · What it does

Three answers, one map.

Built on real data — not crowd guesses, not screenshots, not someone’s old PDF.

legal

Street legality, by the minute

Every block, color-coded. Free vs. metered, scheduled-illegal vs. tow-anytime. The slider lets you peek 48 hours ahead — no more fishtailing into a Tuesday street-clean.

Garage prices, with the receipts

263 priced facilities and counting — iPark prepaid, GMC and GGMC walk-in, NYC DOT's municipal lots, ProPark. Garages don't bill by the hour: we show what the first hour costs, what two hours cost, and what all day costs, exactly as the operator posted it — plus monthly and the booking link. And when a block says no, the map hands you the nearest ones, price-sorted.

Soon-illegal pings, before the meter does

Park, save the spot, and we watch the rules so you don't have to — 30 minutes before street cleaning, before the No-Standing window, before the DOT permit kicks in. Quietly, by push. Or loudly, by alarm.

§03 · Meter prices

Green doesn’t mean free.

Every other NYC map paints a metered block the same green as a free one — one Midtown screen had 424 of them. Ours prints the price on the block, and only while the meter is actually running.

Posted NYC DOT rate for that block face — first hour, full stay, and how long you’re allowed to stay. Free, and not behind an account: knowing what a block costs is the point, so it isn’t the part we charge for.

§04 · The scanner

Stumped at the pole? Scan it.

Point your camera at any NYC sign. The same parser that read the city’s 440,000 sign panels reads this one on the spot — hours, exceptions, tow risk. And when the answer is “you can’t park here”, it hands you the nearest garage, price first.

§05 · The alarmPremium

Everyone else sends a push. We ring.

Set it on the spot you parked in and it goes off 60 and 30 minutes before your block turns illegal — through Silent mode, through Focus, the way your Clock app does. Not one more banner you swipe away half-asleep and remember at 8:04, two minutes after the sweeper.
