Frequently asked questions
Which areas does SpotTrove cover?
All five boroughs of New York City today. If you see “No parking data here,” you’re outside our current coverage area — we’re working on expanding to more cities.
What do the map colors mean?
Green means it’s legal to park right now, amber means legal-but-changing-soon, red means no parking at the moment, and gray means we don’t have enough data. Use the time slider to check what a block looks like at a future time.
How accurate is the parking data?
It’s built from NYC Open Data, NYC DOT feeds, and parsed street-sign text. Signs we’re less sure about are flagged “verify on-site.” Always read the physical signs before you park — SpotTrove is a guide, not a guarantee.
How do I get directions to a spot?
Tap a block or a garage on the map, then tap Directions. On iPhone you can choose Apple Maps or Google Maps.
What’s included in Premium?
Premium adds a heads-up notification before street cleaning at the spot you’ve parked in, plus more saved spots. You can try the core map for free.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed by Apple. On your iPhone, open Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → SpotTrove to change or cancel. Canceling stops future renewals; you keep Premium until the end of the paid period.
How do I request a refund?
Apple handles all billing and refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I delete my account and data?
Email hello@spottrove.com and we’ll erase your account and associated data within 30 days. See our Privacy Policy for details on what we store.
How do I turn location or notifications on or off?
On your iPhone, open Settings → SpotTrove and toggle Location or Notifications. The map still works with location off — you just lose the “recenter on me” button.
Report a wrong sign
If a parking rule in the app looks wrong, tap the block, then tap Report a sign change in the detail sheet — or just email us the cross streets and what you saw. Reports help keep the map accurate for everyone.
